Guest Guides Pat Pond and Robin Filion will explain the interesting structures and artifacts while we enjoy the dramatic views of Big Cottonwood Canyon and the wildflowers along the route. The hike to the Scottish Chief is a perennial favorite.
This is a moderate hike. Although there is only about 500 feet of elevation gain, we will be doing some bushwhacking, so dress appropriately! Dogs are not allowed in Big Cottonwood Canyon. The hike should last 5-6 hours, depending on the length of time we spend at the Scottish Chief and the Copper Apex and allowing time for transportation to the trail head.
Please bring:
- Plenty of water or electorlyte drinks
- Lunch and snacks
- Hiking boots/shoes, sunscreen, hat
- Raincoat
