The U-2 spy plane started flying in 1955 and still flies critical reconnaissance missions today. Join Park City resident and former U-2 pilot Frank “Fuzzy” Furr as he relates President Eisenhower’s struggle to obtain intelligence and how the U-2 has remained the premier high altitude intelligence collector for almost 60 years. Frank, better known as Fuzzy, Furr was an Air Force officer serving over 27 years in various operational, senior staff and leadership positions in the Air Force, Joint Chiefs of Staff, Defense Intelligence Agency, and Office of the Secretary of Defense. Frank has flown over 3500 hours to include over 1300 in the U-2 and over 1200 hours of Combat Time. Upon his retirement from the USAF, he accepted a position in an aerospace/defense high technology company and became Vice President, Programs, for L-3 Communication Systems West.
