SUMMARY:FOSMMH Hike to the Alliance Watchman's Cabin
DESCRIPTION:Thanks to your Live PC Give PC donations the last two years\, Friends of Ski Mountain Mining History is saving the Alliance Watchman’s Cabin which barely made it through the heavy snowfalls last winter. Clark Martinez and his Xcavations crew have finished their Phase 2 work for the summer\, and we are now confident the cabin can withstand the coming winter. \nWe thought we would invite you on a Mining History Hike to see your generous donations at work.  The guided hike will begin at the Ontario Trailhead on Marsac Avenue and include in addition to visiting the cabin we will visit several of the mines located in Empire Canyon: \n\nOntario No 3 Headframe and Shaft House\nAmerican Flag Mine Interpretive Sign\nMassachusetts Mine Historical Sign\nDaly Judge Tramway\nExplosive Bunker\nJudge Office Building\nDaly Judge Tunnel (1 of the 3 mining era tunnels that provides Park City water)\nSilver King Pump House\nAlliance Mine Building\n\nThis is a 3 mile out and back hike on a wide gravel road with 400 vertical change and will take approximately two hours.  If you would like to join us\, please register below: \nFriday October 6th @ 2 PM – Instructions to be emailed to you 24 hours before the hike. \nFollowing the hike please join us for a social hour at Offset Brewery! \nOn behalf of Sally and our all-volunteer committee\, thanks for helping us save this important part of our mining history. \nRegards\, \nSally Elliott & Donald Roll

SUMMARY:Glenwood Cemetery Event with Ghosts
DESCRIPTION:Historic Glenwood Cemetery Tours 2023 \nThe Park City Museum will be hosting its annual Glenwood Cemetery Event with Ghosts on Saturday\, October 7th from 10:45am-12pm and 12:45pm-2:00pm.  Rain date for the event will be scheduled the next day on Sunday\, October 8th.  Park City history will come alive through reenactors or ghosts in costume standing at various gravesites discussing life and death in the old historic mining town.  Scandals and Tales of Woe from the Glenwood Cemetery will be the overall theme this year. \nThe tours will cost $20 per person and are appropriate for ages 10 years and older.  This will be a fundraiser for the historic cemetery.  Space is limited and reservations are required.  Please visit Park City Museum’s website­­­­ www.parkcityhistory.org for more information.  No dogs please. \nTo register for the event\, please choose the tour you prefer and sign-up at https://parkcityhistory.org/events/.  If you have any questions\, please contact Diane Knispel at 435-574-9554 or education@parkcityhistory.org. \nThis year’s characters will include Liz Scully\, Emma Jennings\, Lewis Paradise\, Willie Jefford\, Robert Bennie\, and Samuel Simmons who will all be portrayed by local volunteers. \nThe cemetery is located at the end of Silver King Drive\, near the intersection of Silver King Drive and Three Kings Drive. \n	\n						Sponsor a Grave
