SUMMARY:Behind the Bars and Booze of Park City lecture given by Jane Perkins
DESCRIPTION:Park City Museum will host a lecture called Behind the Bars and Booze of Park City given by Jane Perkins on Wednesday\, July 24\, 2024 from 5-6 p.m. held at the Park City Museum Education and Collections Center located at 2079 Sidewinder Drive. More information can be found at www.parkcityhistory.org. \nIn the early days of starting High West Distillery\, Jane & Dave were regularly asked “why do this in Utah where no one drinks!” In order to address that question\, they researched who came\, what they drank\, and where they drank. The discoveries were incorporated into the brand and eventually a book. Jane and David regularly met with Gary Kimball\, a legacy to Park City history as well as the author of the book Saloons of Old Park City. This lecture will explore the colorful history of the early saloons and drinks as well as their evolution as the city transitioned from silver to snow.
