Meeting Guest Guide Michael O’Malley at Silver Lake, we’ll climb the hiking-only Red Cloud Trail to visit the Flagstaff Mine, the first producing mine in the Park City District. Followed by a gourmet lunch in Cushing’s Cabin catered by Deer Valley Resort. After lunch, we’ll circumnavigate a high alpine meadow to the top of Bald Mountain. There hikers will have the opportunity of a scenic download on the Sterling Lift. The hike and gourmet lunch is an all day affair (approximately 10am to 2:30pm) over 6 miles of moderately strenuous trails with elevation gain on 1,100 to 1,300 ft over the first three miles. More details will be emailed upon registering.Your donation of $75 per person or $140 per couple will support our efforts to stabilize Park City’s last remaining mining structures. Silver mines once dotted the mountains surrounding Park City and a labyrinth of mine tunnels extend more than 1,000 miles under Park City’s trails. The Park City Museum and Friends of Ski Mountain Mining History seek to stabilize and preserve the legacy of Park City’s historic mining structures for future residents and visitors alike.EVENT IS SOLD OUT!
