Ontario Hike July 23rd at 10 a.m.
This guided hike will begin at the Ontario Trailhead on Marsac Avenue. It is a fairly easy three mile out and back hike on a wide gravel road with 400 vertical change and will take approximately two hours.
We will visit several of the mines located in Empire Canyon:
• Ontario No 3 Headframe and Shaft House
• American Flag Mine Interpretive Sign
• Massachusetts Mine Historical Sign
• Daly Judge Tramway
• Explosives Bunker
• Judge Office Building
• Daly Judge Tunnel (1 of the 3 mining era tunnels that provides Park City water)
• Silver King Pump House
• Alliance Mine Building
• Alliance Watchman’s Cabin
Please wear good hiking shoes and remember sun protection, hydration and nourishment for this informative two hour hike. Please arrive ten minutes early for a prompt 10 AM departure.
