The Strange and Curious History of Alcohol Along Main Street Lecture

Come to the Park City Museum on Wednesday, May 24th from 5-6PM to hear the Strange and Curious History of Alcohol Along Main Street written, designed, and presented by Rob Brooke. Rob will discuss how alcohol is made and how alcohol has been applied to life in Park City. The aftermath of the prohibition forever altered the consumption of alcohol. The Park City experience is an ideal example of the ways alcohol fostered a bond in diverse ethnic communities and has served as a catalyst to unite residents and visitors alike on Main Street. This presentation is in conjunction with the Spirited, Prohibition in America exhibit now on display until May 25th at the Park City Museum. Spirited is based on the exhibition American Spirits: The Rise and Fall of Prohibition, organized by the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, PA, in collaboration with Daniel Okrent, author of Last Call: The Rise and Fall of Prohibition. Spirited has been made possible through NEH on the Road, a special initiative of the National Endowment for the Humanities. It has been adapted and toured by Mid-America Arts Alliance.
