EllynAnne Geisel will present her signature Writing Your Memories Workshop, subtitled, “Harriet Nelson May Have Died, But She Isn’t Dead.” (Friday, November 4th from 10AM-12PM) With an assortment of old aprons as the inspiration, attendees will revisit their past, record recollections in a Memory Trigger Notebook, and write their first story in the format EllynAnne utilizes: short and vivid with detail.
The program is free to all, and participants are asked to bring along a blank notebook and a writing pen. It is very helpful, too, for attendees to arrive with an apron memory to share with the group, either written down, or recalled orally.
Self-described “apron curator” or “apron archaeologist” EllynAnne Geisel collaborated with award-winning documentary photographer Kristina Loggia to create the exhibit, The Apron Chronicles that is currently open in the Park City Museum’s Tozer Gallery. The exhibit explores the American experience as seen and read through nearly 50 images, text in story form, and 155 vintage aprons. The stories explore the people behind the aprons and give life to both the fabric and the exhibit.
