Park City Museum will host a Zoom lecture on patient disability rights given by Emily Beitiks on Wednesday, March 29th from 5-6 p.m. To sign-up for the lecture, please contact Diane Knispel at education@parkcityhistory.org and she will send you a link. The exhibition Patient No More: People with Disabilities Securing Civil Rights will be displayed at the Park City Museum from February 12 to April 16th. Patient No More is presented by the Paul K. Longmore Institute on Disability at San Francisco State University, made possible with support from California Humanities, and traveled by Exhibit Envoy.
The Paul K. Longmore Institute on Disability invites you to discover Patient No More: People with Disabilities Securing Civil Rights, an exhibition on a remarkable, overlooked moment in U.S. history when people with disabilities occupied a government building in downtown San Francisco to demand their rights. Join Emily Beitiks for a presentation that will share untold stories collected from oral histories with the disabled protesters as she reflects on the lasting significance this protest has had, not just for disability rights but also for teaching new ways of seeing disability and disabled people.
